Washington, June 20, 2025 - The Supreme Court announced that in September it will hear arguments on the legality of the student debt forgiveness plan pushed by President Joe Biden in 2023.
The measure, which sought to alleviate the burden of millions of Americans with student loans, was challenged by Republican state attorneys general, who allege that the Executive exceeded its functions.
The outcome of the ruling, expected in mid-2026, could redefine the limits of presidential power and affect the economic future of more than 30 million people.
